ABOUT CHRIS MORRISON
Thank you for choosing to work with Chris Morrison. An Independent Social Worker with over 15 years’ experience in Children & Families Social Work. With a background and specialism in childhood trauma, child protection, children looked after and care leavers. Chris has a particular interest in Andrew Turnell’s, Signs of Safety model and practices within this frame of work. Chris is a children's storybook author that focuses on short therapeutic stories that help children to process and understand traumatic experiences. Over the years, Chris has managed a variety of Children's Social Care Teams from Children that are Looked After, to Unaccompanied Minors. Chris has managed a Specialist Children’s Social Care Team working with Specialist practitioners who work directly with Substance Misuse, Domestic Violence and Private Fostering. Chris is dynamic, approachable, fair and highly analytical when it comes to social work practice, with the ability to produce work of exceptional quality.
CHILD COUNSELLOR
Chris is also a Child Counsellor trained in the Arts. With a passion for helping young minds navigate their emotions and experiences through the arts. Chris specialises in using activities such as drawing, painting, drama-therapy to communicate with children. By creating a safe, expressive environment, he encourages children to explore their feelings in a way that feels both engaging and natural.
CHILDREN’S SERVICES
I am well versed with both frontline practice and at senior management level. My day-to-day tasks consist of analysing complex child protection information and making sound decisions in line with statutory child protection procedures.
CPD SAFEGUARDING TRAINING
Providing one-on-one or group Safeguarding Training to a variety of professionals. Safeguarding courses are all CPD accredited. In addition, I provide Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training to educational professionals.
AUDITS & CONSULTANCY
I provide in-house safeguarding audits covering a range of priority areas within Education settings and Local Authorities. I also provide consultancy covering areas such as, Safeguarding Policy Reviews, Management of allegations against staff advice & DSL advice and guidance.
